Nigeria’s Telecoms giant MTN has renewed the endorsement deal it has with Davido as Ambassador and signed on the following artistes Iyanya, Praiz, Chidinma (Kedike Crooner) and Mike Anyaso as the new celebrity faces of MTN.

Davido and Iyanya confirmed the endorsement via their twitter accounts respectively, see below:

Gistexpress.com gathered reliably that the artistes may earn as much as N15m each in their one year deal with the telecommunications company.

Blessing Daniels, Nee Adebolajo, 32

The sister of the terror suspect accused of hacking a soldier to death pictured above smiled yesterday as she was escorted from her home and got into a police car.

Blessing daniels, nee Adebolajo, 32, was led from her property yesterday morning just hours after her brother Michael, 28, was filmed ranting with blood on his hands yards from the body of the murdered soldier in Woolwich.

It is understood she was not arrested, but police will undoubtedly want to question her about her brother who neighbours said was seen regularly at the house.

Blessing lives on the top floor of the property and used to share the home with her terror suspect brother. It was also claimed that Adebolajo smoked drugs when he was staying there.

Michael Adebolajo was in a group of Muslim extremists who fought with police outside the Old Bailey in 2006. He had been arguing that he had the right to ‘behead those who insult Islam’

The second Woolwich killer has been identified and known as Michael Oluwatobi Adebowale, 22, of Greenwich, southeast London. Like Michael Adebolajo, he’s also a British citizen of Nigerian descent.

According to reports, a friend who has known Adebowale since he was 11-years-old says Adebowale became a Muslim in his late teens.

‘He converted to Islam, preaching Islam, preaching peace. Not preaching anything bad or anything negative. Just literally the ways of Islam really. I would see him going to mosque and coming back from mosque. He was completely normal. The whole reform into Islam was a sudden change though. It suited him though. It looked like he was doing well. He was a new person. He was one of us at school. Nothing evil about him at all. So yeah it was a big shock to us. A big shock.’

Details about the 22-year-old are still emerging, but it is understood he and his girlfriend, a fellow convert, were well known in south-east London for handing out extremist leaflets.

Adebowale was also known to be among the 3,000 Muslim extremists in Britain being watched by MI5 and is believed to have been radicalised while studying at university.

Both have been been arrested on suspicion of murder and are under armed guard in two separate London hospitals with Scotland Yard waiting to interview them.

Jodi Arias will not be put to death — at least not yet.

A judge declared a mistrial in the sentencing phase of her murder trial today, after the jury could not agree on whether to sentence Arias to death or to life in prison for murdering her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, in 2008.

Arias, 32, was convicted earlier this month of first-degree murder for Alexander’s death, and her conviction will stand. Only the death penalty phase of her case can be retried.

It will be up to the prosecutor to decide whether to retry the penalty phase. If he decides to try again for the death penalty, a new jury will be selected and both the prosecution and defense will present evidence and arguments over what sentence Arias should receive.

The retrial would begin July 18, Judge Sherry Stephens announced today. Arias can either be sentenced to death or to life in prison, with or without the possibility of parole.

Maria Taiwo Abati, the mother of the Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, is dead.

Mr Abati made the announcement of the death on behalf of his family.

The late Mrs Abati, 81, was described as a devout Christian, a very kind and loving person. She was born on 7th August 1931.

She was born into the family of late Samuel Jobo Arowotadina and Late Elizabeth Efundunke Arowotadina of Ijemo, Abeokuta. She was a trader at Kuto Market for many years and was popularly known and addressed as Mama Adunni or Mama Sunday.

She is survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren including Mr. Abati; Robert Abati, a Geologist with Dangote Cement; Ralph Abati, a banker with Fidelity Bank Plc; and Lanre Abati, an Economist and Chartered Accountant. She is also survived by her twin sister, Victoria Kehinde Olude.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later, the presidential aide said.
