It’s been a subject of speculation for the past few days, but we can authoritatively tell you that EME’s most popular singer, Ayo ‘WizKid’ Balogun has dumped the label for good.
Last week, the famous music star gave a hint via a series of tweets and Facebook messages that he is starting all over again, and we can now tell you it has to do with his career.
Frequent visitors to his social media pages like Facebook, and Twitter will notice he has changed his booking contacts from info@empiremusicenterprises.com to DisturbingLDN and his new manager’s, Godwin Tom, email address.
Trouble started towards the end of 2012 when Wizkid fired his then manager, Osagie Osarenkhoe and hired childhood friend Godwin Tom.
EME boss, Banky W. and Segun Demuren, who run the music label were said to be disappointed with his decision but chose to keep things lying low to avoid the bitter press war that rocked D’Banj and Don Jazzy’s split early 2012.
As of now, Wizkid is said to be open to fulfill his previous commitments with his former record label up till the end of 2012.
What really went down that led to the break-up is still sketchy, but what is certain at this time is that Wizkid is no longer a member of EME.
