According to a report by Saturday Beats, most of the popular Yoruba artistes in Nollywood barely make enough money to keep body and soul together.
While the highest paid makes around N250,000 per appearance, it was discovered that some veterans receive as low as N10,000.
Closely followed on the list are veterans like Adebayo Salami aka Oga Bello, and Bukky Wright who charge N150,000.
Many others like Funsho Adeolu, Yomi Fash Lanso, Yemi Solade, Femi Adebayo, Baba Suwe, Bolaji Amusan aka Mr. Latin, Saheed Balogun, Doris Simeon, Fathia Balogun, Ronke Ojo, and others take as low as N50,000 per appearance depending on how broke they were before the offer came.
When you convert their earnings to international currency, the highest paid takes about $1,500 per appearance, while the lowest paid gets about $66.
Nollywood has a loooooooooooong way to go.
