Young Pastors Advise Pastor Adeboye To Step Down As RCCG General Overseer

GE admin May 16, 2012 20

Some Europe-based pastors of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) have reportedly advised the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch A. Adeboye to step down from his post to pave way for a younger pastor to head the church.

According to PM News, about 20 pastors from the branches of the Church in Europe met with the revered man of God fondly called “Daddy G.O” in his International office at Redemption Camp to advise him to resign since he has clocked 70 years.

The pastors were said to have cited the case of the four Assistant General Overseers (AGOs) of the church, Pastors M.O. Ojo, Ilori, Aderibigbe and D. Ojo, whose retirements were announced at the conclusion of Minister Conference on Sunday, August 8, 2010.

A pastor of the church who is shocked at the effrontery of the pastors wondered how some people could be thinking that way, “when all of us are seriously praying to God to grant our father (Pastor Adeboye) long life, good health and strength to continue the good work he’s doing for the Lord.”

He further said the position of the General Overseer of the Church is not for the highest bidder or the most erudite pastor; rather, it is God who will appoint the most qualified pastor when it is time.

Pastor Adeboye had told his faithful in one of the services not too long ago that his successor is still in drinking joint, that is, the fellow is yet to give his life to Christ or he is still a baby Christian.

Pastor E.A Adeboye is not spiritually nor physically deformed, why should he resign ? The so young pastors have something else in their minds. RCCG is not a political party
but vine yard of God. It is God that chooses the one to look after His vine yard. About 200 persons surrender their lives to Jesus at every of his sermon. We the youths are still not tired of learning from his humility. Father forgive the young pastors for they know not what they do.
I wish pastor Adeboye long life to do more than has ever done by God’s grace.

Daddy G.O had said it sometime ago dat d person to take over from him is yet to b a christian, so why the hurry. In His time He makes all thing beautiful dat is what the bible said. why cant they leave it for God to do His work. infact i believe those pastors are mere doing that for their selfish interest.

I’m not surprised at this kind of statement it’s simply because it’s coming from young pastors. Young pastors will always sound young or immature in their reasoning. I don’t know why crave for position is ravaging the lives of some young ministers today. Anybody who knows the weight and the enormity of the responsibility of this position will not reason nor talk like these young pastors.

I think we should be matured enough to trust the judgement of our God ordained leader, if God is saying it is not yet time, who are we to say no? you ambitious new generation pastors should not be careless enough to kick against God. IT IS TOO RISKY

Matthew 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

If the so called “young pastors” are doing the will of God then, very soon Daddy G.O. will announce who God want him to handover to. However, if they just “love” Daddy G.O. and were acting on self interest or somebody is pushing them to do that -because of his own evil motive-, then they should consider if they are going to Heaven at all (kingdom of God will be full of surprises).
Matthew 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”

Daddy G.O. long life, in good health and with more Anointing, in Jesus Name.

Whenever a spiritual institution start electing the leader it means they are following the crowd instead of the cloud and will soon loose steam and relevance.Daddy GO is God’s choice that’s the reason for all the breakthroughs. The same God will choose and name the next GO of the RccG.

God is the driver of all His missionary works on earth. Man proposes God disposes.

These young Pastors are over ambitious, they should go and find work to do. Pastos Enoch Adeboye is God chosen an d he will remain as G.O until God’ himself provide the successor.
I must say emphatically, the names of the Pastors in question should be published.

Oh my God! Deliver us from these so called pastors who are church buisnessmen. The bible says the god of a man is his belly, These people seek for what to eat and not who to preach to.

Just for the records. This story is completely a distraction from the pit of hell. Pastor Adeboye confirmed at a meeting with his pastors in London that no pastor came to him to step down.
