As the results of the 2011 parliamentary elections trickles in, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates are recording landslide losses contrary to their expectations of cheap victories.
Unconfirmed reports emanating from the South-West area of the country shows the incumbent Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Dimeji Bankole may have lost his re-election bid, while the daughter of the former President, Sen. Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello is currently walking on a tight rope as the results so far released shows she is losing a lot of votes in her constituency to opposition parties.
However, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) is gaining a lot of grounds in the South-West zone, while the fierce contest in Anambra Central Senatorial zone between former governor of the state, Chris Ngige and Dora Akunyili is too close to call.
We will keep you updated as results are officially released.
