It seems drama always follows actress Mercy Johnson wherever she goes.
Just a year after getting into a verbal altercation with respected Nollywood actress Pateince Ozokwor on a movie set, Mercy reportedly took on male colleague Mike Ezuruonye on a movie set in eastern Nigeria on Sunday February 20,2011. Mercy is said to have yelled all kinds of insults at Mike, who stood there in shock.
According to movie blog Stella’s New Groove, the problem began when Mercy, who is reportedly enjoying the ‘attention’ of some particular producers, was nowhere to be found on the movie set. In fact Mercy held things up when she kept everyone waiting over 2 hours, including Mike.
Mercy could not be reached by anyone as she refused to answer her cell phone calls. Mercy finally breezed her way onto the set and before anyone could say a word, she vanished for a few hours again, while everyone waited and waited… and then waited some more.
Finally, she showed up un-apologetic and exchanged a few harsh words with the continuity manager whom she threatened to slap his ears off if he tried her.
Mike Ezuruonye and the producer on the set then approached Mercy and told her to take it easy. Mike even told her, ”Mercy you used to be very humble,what happened to you? Please don’t let this stardom thing get to your head, its really not worth it”.
According to eye witness reports, that moment passed and all was well, until it came time to run their script lines. Mercy refused to join Mike and insisted on running her lines from inside where she was seated. The producer begged but Mercy refused to move. After a few frustrated attempts, Mike eventually got frustrated and dropped his script, saying he could not work like that.
When Mercy finally decided she was ready to run her lines, Mike was really upset as he stormed out. Lo and behold, Mercy then came out, running after mike and screaming behind him the words ”FUCK YOU”. The entire set was silent and in shock as “Mike stopped in his tracks, retraced his steps and asked her ”excuse me?” Mercy replied, ”You heard me, fuck you.You can do your worst”.
Mike was reportedly shocked to his bones, asking the actress, ‘I beg your pardon, what did you say?” Mercy replied again, ”I said fuck you. Who do you think you are?”
The men on the set immediately came between them and Mike was physically restrained from going near Mercy who continued to hurl out a bile of swear words on him. Mike then stormed off the set and refused to come back to run any lines with the actress. Can you blame him? Meanwhile, Mercy refused to apologize.
Now you might be wondering just how accurate this story is? Well, let’s just say Mike’s management team headed by Mildred Okwo did not deny the story when contacted. In fact, Mildred gave the following statement below -
”Thanks for your inquiry. Our client Mike values his colleagues who act in a professional manner. It is his belief that “every actor must respect the director and people on set and he will not stand for actors who cannot check their egos”. Mike is still deciding how to address the incident and we will put out a release at the appropriate time.”
This story is all the more outrageous because Mike, who is very well liked by his colleagues, has always been described as a peaceful and professional actor.
And this isn’t the first time Mercy has displayed her shameful behavior in public. In, 2010, she hurled a number of insults at veteran actress Patience Ozokwor, who forgave Mercy and played a mother figure by publicly accepting the actress’ public apology back then.
In fact, Mercy has reportedly developed a nasty reputation amongst her peers as one source adds, “Acting with mercy is a no go area for me,she is talented but i guess fame got to her head.” How sad.

This is the way it is in Nigeria. She looks amorous, obviously, the rich and mighty in the land have had a piece of her. In her subconscious, she begins to think she is equal with the high and mighty instead of feeling exploited. But then, was she not the poor girl from Kogi? Or is it because of her mammary endowment? Come off it! Pride goes before a fall.

To me i believe that everything that happen i life is for a reason. i also know that everyone have their own bad day. come to think of it, Mercy has been acting for years now and this has just happened two times. if you ask mercy, i think she will certainly have a story to tell about that black day.
